The Women of The Bonner Family

By Becky Squire

The Bonner Family is far from the contemporary, traditional family.  The family of 10 has been able to stay close with each other as they travel and sing together as a group. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they always know what is most important. Through their faith and love for music, they have been able to incorporate music in their respective careers.

Despite residing in different states, they remain the best of friends. As they share their love for Christ and music, they hope to bless and inspire all that are compelled to listen. The eight Bonner siblings and their parents, all talented and professional vocalists in their own rights, gathered from around the country to compose and record an original song based on the hymn “I Need Thee Every Hour”  as a gift to their mother. This started their journey of singing together as a family professionally.

Latter Daisy content manager, Becky Squire, interviewed the women of the Bonner Family about their thoughts on womanhood, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and of course music!

Where did your love of music come from?

Our love of music came from our mom.

What is one piece of advice you would give Latter-day Saint women?

Be honest with yourself and others about how you feel.

How do you strengthen your roots in the gospel of Jesus Christ?

We strengthen our roots in the gospel of Jesus Christ through prayer

What challenges in your life have you faced that have led you to where you are today?

Divorce and broken family are challenges we have faced and has required a lot of prayer and humility

What advice would you give other women going through similar situations?

We would advise women going through this to pray often and to create relationships with other women - this will help you love yourself and will empower you to give yourself the life you deserve (along with God's help and His will)

If you could only listen to one artist the rest of your life, who would it be?

Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Nat King Cole, Bob Marley, Weezer.
